About Cooking with Elegance

There are only a handful of things that give me great pleasure, one that stands out the most is my love of cooking and creating a memories with the food I make. If you would have told me a couple of years ago that my love of food would lead to me creating a blog about it, I probably wouldn't have believed you. My passion was music, I had dreams of becoming a singer and pianist, however somehow my love of food influenced me in more ways than I could have ever imagined and has led to where I am in life today. The past couple of years have led me on a journey of discovery in so many wonderful ways and all of which somehow included food, not surprising some would say.  Many memories in my life somehow involved food. Cooking with my mother was one of my first, the fresh baked blueberry or corn muffins every Sunday was always one of my favorite times spent with my Mother. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite Holidays.... I always laugh when I think about the year my Mother forgot to take the giblets out of the Turkey. As a young girl I would watch Julia Child on PBS and then run into the kitchen and try to create something... I was known for my peanut butter and kix cereal balls! Once I reached High School and college age, I was baking cookies, cakes, cupcakes and pies for friends, family and co-workers. One of my most prized memories  happened a few years ago, when my future Husband and I bonded over stuffed artichokes on one of our first dates. Being in the kitchen is what makes me the happiest. For me the kitchen is the heart of the home. I look forward to sharing recipes and ideas with you and I hope that I can inspire you to make new memories with your family. I also look forward to hearing your memories and recipes as well. If there is something your would like to share, whether it be a recipe or idea, a question...or something you would like me write about please email me at: vintagesugar@verizon.net
